The inaugural ceremony of Community Help Centre was held on February 11, 2020 at Wenlock District Hospital, O.P.D Block, Mangaluru. It was organized by Wenlock District Hospital in collaboration with Indian Red Cross Society, D.K District and Youth Red Cross, Mangalore University.
Sri. Srinivas Poojari, Minister of Fisheries, Ports and Inland Transport of Karnataka and Sri. D. Vedavyas Kamath, M.L.A, Mangalore South Assembly Constituency, inaugurated the Help Centre. Prof. P.S.Yadapadithaya, Vice Chancellor, Mangalore University and Smt. Sindhu.B.Roopesh, I.A.S, District Commissioner, D.K. and Sri. C.A. Shantharam Shetty, Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society, D.K were also present.
Sri. S.A Prabhakar Sharma, K.A.S, Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society briefed about the workings of the Community Help Centre. Dignitaries distributed Jackets to the volunteers and the volunteers handed over baby bath and hooded towels to the representatives of Lady Goshen District Hospital.
The programme united the volunteers of Mangaluru and 12 volunteers of Youth Red Cross Unit represented Canara College, Mangaluru
